Your taxes for Tax Year 2016 are due by April 18th, 2017, unless you file extensions.
In addition, consider the following:

  1. Please check with your CPA or tax preparer to confirm that you have their most current contact information and send that to us to ensure that we can forward your tax information to them without complication. Specifically, please confirm the following information and send it to Rich Allen:
    • Name, office address, phone & fax numbers
    • Email Address (these frequently change—so confirming this is very important!)
    • If we do not receive your tax preparer’s information, we will not be sending them Tax Information.
  2. Although final 1099s are supposed to be completed by March 15th, we have seen corrected 1099s after that date in past years. Remember: 1099s can be revised well into late March. Please make sure to let your CPA/tax professional know so he/she doesn’t file before you have received your final 1099s. Also, please note that we do not control whether 1099s are revised AND we do not receive any direct notifications that your 1099 has been revised.
  3. We will be emailing you the December 2016 statements, the 1099s for tax year 2016, and Management Fee Expenses soon. If you have provided us with your tax preparer/CPA’s email information, we will copy that person on the email.
  4. If not, we will send that information to you via encrypted email. We use ShareFile, a file encryption service to mail all attachments (especially tax documents!) When you click on the link in the email, ShareFile will prompt you to enter your email address and name in order to continue. ShareFile uses either Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption protocols and up to AES 256-bit encryption.
  5. As a reminder, K-1s are normally mailed directly to you in mid to late March. Opus 111 Group does not receive a copy of K-1s. So asking us for a copy of a K-1 is not particularly useful.
